Description

Scottish composer and music producer Ged Grimes founded HEIST records in 2010. As an original member of Eighties pop band Danny Wilson, Ged was signed to Virgin Records Worldwide. The band's hits, such as Mary's Prayer and The Second Summer of Love, reached top positions in both the US Billboard and British charts. Since then, Ged has continued to produce and write music for a variety of pop names, and has created soundtracks for radio, film and television clients, including the BBC and Universal Pictures. In the late Nineties, Ged founded Jack's Hoose Music, the interactive audio company whose tracks featured on the console/PC game Earthworm Jim 3D. JHM was then asked to create interactive scores for Atari Inc, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc and Namco Ltd in Japan. Other credits include tracks for the Sony Playstation game, Amplitude (credited as the Game Boyz) alongside David Bowie and Garbage. JHM also created music for the Wachowski Brothers/Shiny Entertainment title Enter The Matrix, which was nominated for Best Instrumental Music and Best Original Song at the 2004 San Francisco GANG Awards. JHM then went on to create theme soundtracks for Sky TV and mobile games such as Shrek 3, Ben 10 and The Fast and The Furious. Ged continues to play live and record, working with Simple Minds, Lostboy AKA, and Deacon Blue and other international acts. HEIST records sees Ged Grimes taking JHM's esteemed reputation for soundtracks to the next level by signing and licensing new artists. In doing so, he has created a label that is a dynamic meeting point for the contemporary music and interactive audio industries.
